It's My Birthday, I Deserve To Be Greedy, Huh?

This past weekend I celebrated my birthday with my closest friends and family. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate; and I couldn't have looked more appropriate for the setting.

We went to La Marina in Dyckman. And since I'm a summer baby, nothing is better than a beach/beer garden atmosphere.

The outfit I ended up wearing wasn't exactly what had in mind initially. But this sheer ensemble stumbled into my arms and everything else fell into place.

The dress, paired with my accessories has a romantic, girly feel, so I decided to push the envelope and wear a more sexy chic shoe.

My evening was more than I could have asked for. I thank you all for the gift of friendship. Love you guys; you know who you are!

Making Statements!

My accessories are my staple. The way I wear my hair, my necklaces, my earrings, my shoes etc. I'm obsessed with all the little things that complete a look.

But this post is just dedicated to my neckwear; and since I'm a men's neckwear designer (in real life), what better way to share with my readers what I do, know, and love most?

This is not my entire necklace collection; just a few of my beloved statement pieces. Some old, some new, some vintage, and some gifted.

Hope you Enjoyed!

All Natural Everything

Hey! So, I know brights and pastels are all the rave this season, but who cares? I am really loving au naturale hues and looks! My hair is natural, I pretty much only wear neutral colors on my nails and toes, and I've always been a minimalist when it came to my make-up. "Simplicity and clarity is a good recipe for design". In other words, less is more. Check out how I pulled together a generally blah color scheme and made it charming.

Breaking All Fat Girl Rules...

Well let me clear the air before you read any further. You will probably NEVER see me in a bikini or a cropped top but horizontal stripes, YES!

I always heard that fat girls shouldn't wear stripes. Well I'm here to tell you, I don't give a damn about what "people" say.

I love stripes. Stripes on the American flag, stripes on my burgers, stripes on my body (I mean, stretch marks...but I love those too!) and stripes on my clothing. They may make me look a little wider than normal, but that doesn't make them a fat girl fashion faux pas.

I found this dress in a random boutique, on a very skinny mannequin and had to have it.

I was drawn to the color combo, the 3/4 sleeves and the length. I knew I could werk this dress and all 20+ stripes.

Gwyneth Shoes

This is my most exciting blog post thus far.

Last week, someone discovered my [fairly new] blog, and offered to gift me some shoes to blog about. This has come so soon and has given me the momentum to keep this blogging thing going.

A sales rep from Gwyneth Shoes told me to pick out any shoe from the site and I got them next day. I wore the shoe that evening so that I could give it a fair review. And I must say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOE.

The heel is perfect, it comes with a built in cushion for comfort and its just flat out CLASSIC. I got a ton of compliments on the shoe and especially the color. And for those anti-suede-in-summer divas, don't knock it 'til you rock it. "There are no rules in fashion when you have STYLE."

I decided to go full color, blunt and the total opposite of subtle with this outfit.

I can promise, that I will be making great use of these shoes.

How Fitting?

The story behind this outfit is pretty interesting; well not really, but read on.

I stumbled upon this skirt by accident. It was on the floor near the fitting room in Urban Outfitters; walked on and filthy. It had a belt that was missing and is two sizes too too small. But I fell in love with the color.
When I picked the skirt up, I thought, 'sheesh, this is tiny and dirty' but took it into the room with me anyway.

The skirt fit like a glove, so I had to have it. It was the last one of its kind and they couldnt find the corresponding belt. The manager gave me 20% off of the skirt because of the stains and the missing belt, I took it to the cleaners and WALLAH, MAGIC!
